Parliamentary delegation travels to Lisbon
Morocco-Portugal, Politics, 9/19/2000
A delegation from the Moroccan house of representatives (lower chamber), led by speaker Abdelouahed Radi, starts this Tuesday a three-day visit to Portugal.
The parliamentary delegation will meet speaker of the Portuguese assembly, Almida Santos, heads of parliamentary groups and other Portuguese officials, including former president Mario Soares and Prime Minister Antonio Guterres.
A statement of the chamber says the visit, part of parliamentary diplomacy, is meant to consolidate relations between the two Mediterranean countries and defend Morocco's national causes topped by the Moroccan Sahara issue.
