Sudanese president begins his electoral campaign

Informed sources expect soon a meeting between Omar Hassan El Bashir and Jhon Garang.

Informed Sudanese sources in Cairo told Arabic News that "it is expected that the Sudanese president to arrive soon in Samara to meet the Eritrean president Asias Aforki, expecting that a similar meeting would take place between El Bashir and head of the public movement for liberating Sudan Colonel Jhon Garang. The meeting will be the first of it kind, yet diplomatic sources in Cairo did not confirm this meeting.

The Sudanese president said previously in the current year that he is ready to meet Garang anywhere even in the jungle to find a peaceful solution to the Sudanese problem to end years of war and destruction.

On the other hand, the Sudanese president began his electoral campaign yesterday as he raised his electoral program for a second term to combat poverty and to provide jobs for citizens.

El Bashir undertook pushing forward the development in Sudan side by side with other policies in the economy as well as the foreign relations, assuring that achieving peace and stopping the war in the south come on top of his priorities.
