Palestine-Israel, Politics, 9/19/2000

The observers consider Barak's declarations as shutting the door in front of the settlement proposals raised by the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat for turning the sovereignity of al- Aqsa mosque to the Islamic Jerusalem committee.

The negotiations between the two sides were stopped over the Jerusalem issue.

Barak said that he is ready to study creative ideas concerning the sovereignity on al-Aqsa mosque.

The Egyptian foreign minister said that there are tens of propsals concerning the sovereignity yet they were all refused by both sides.
