Joint Egyptian- French naval maneuvers

The French Embassy in Cairo said on Monday that Egyptian and French warships on Monday started naval maneuvers off the Egyptian coats on the Mediterranean.
The same source explained that Celiopatra 2000 maneuvers are expected to be conducted along ten days with training on inspection and rescue operations, confronting submarines and attacking gun-ships.
French warships taking part in these maneuvers are the missile equipped frigate " Sovrein," the anti-submarine frigate La Mout Pecet, the leadership ship Marren while Egypt will be taking place in two frigates, two gun-ships and a backing ship.
Italy and Germany will also join these maneuvers.
These naval maneuvers which are held twice a year since 1994 started in 1988.
