New Agenda Countries call for nuclear weapons non proliferation

In a meeting held at UN's Headquarters in new York, the new alliance agenda countries which groups Egypt, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, Sweden, Ireland and New Zealand mulled over the future role of the alliance during the coming 10 years especially in the field of nuclear disarmament. Foreign Minister Amr Moussa who attended the meeting said Egypt attaches great importance to nuclear weapons elimination.
On his part, Egypt's Permanent Delegate to the UN Ambassador Ahmed Abu al Gheit said the ministers participating in the meeting expressed satisfaction over the performance of the Agenda Countries during the sixth conference on nuclear weapons non proliferation.
The Foreign Ministers agreed to seek to implement the conference recommendations in coordination with the five nuclear countries Abu al-Gheit noted. He also added that the ministers signed a declaration inviting the international community to exert more efforts to convince all countries of the importance of the nuclear weapons non proliferation treaty. They also called on India, Pakistan and Israel to join the treaty and open their nuclear facilities for supervision and inspection by international atomic power agency, Abu al Gheit concluded.
