Sheik Ekrema Sabri: We do not mind sovereignity of the Islamic Conference Organization on Jerusalem
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 9/16/2000

Sheik Ekrema Sabri, the Mufti of Jerusalem and Palestine, said that "we do not mind the participation of the Islamic Jerusalem committee which is affiliated to the Islamic Conference Organization in the sovereignty on Jerusalem on a condition that this does not reduce the full Palestinian sovereignty on it."

He stated that he welcomes any solution that could lead to ending the Israeli occupation over Jerusalem, saying that the Palestinians refuse any non Arab or non Islamic sovereignty on Jerusalem. He excluded the UN Security Council or the U.N's participation referring to the refusal of the Palestinians people and leadership to any U.S proposals that support the Israeli occupation on Jerusalem and grant it legitimacy, assuring that Israel underestimate the Muslims and the holy places."
