Iraqi kidnapper of Qatari plan says he feared for his life

An airplane on its way to Jordan from Qatar was kidnapped and the kidnapper was brought back to Doha - Qatar after surrendering in Saudi Arabia.

A Qatari security team came back with the kidnapper of the airbus airplane which is affiliated to the Qatari airlines yesterday to Doha coming from Hael city in Saudi Arabia.

The Qatari interior ministry said that the kidnaper Adel Fahd Jeheid (Iraqi citizen) was on board of the airplane was to receive a one year imprisonment verdict against him with suspended implementation as well as expatriating him from the country.

The kidnapper said that he committed his act to prevent being delivered to the Iraqi authorities if he resumed his trip to Jordan and that his only request is to have asylum in Iraq Qatar.

Jeheid, 23 years old, said that he used in kidnapping the airplane simple tools such as a tooth brush and a comb, negating using a knife as was reported and that he was carrying a mere mirror. He said that he sneaked into Qatar without having a formal entry visa.

Captain of the kidnapped airplane said that Jeheid assured him during the kidnapping operation that if he went to Amman (Jordan) he will be dead and that it is better that we all die and to land in another airport than Amman therefore we landed in Hael airport in Saudi Arabia the day before yesterday.
