Agri-business called to be an engine for economic development

Agri-business is called to be an engine for the modernization of agriculture and for national economy as a whole, the Moroccan agri-business Federation said.
Agri-business contributes 34% of the industrial Gross National Product, 20% of exports, 21% of industrial employment, said the Federation, adding that the sector presents solid bases for lasting development.
Agri-business is the country's second industrial sector with a turnover representing 34 % of all national industrial sectors.
Morocco has 1,621 agri-business industries, employing 21 % of all industrial labor force.
