Egypt advises Israel to withdraw from Arab land to make peace
Egypt- Israel, Politics, 9/14/2000
Egypt on Wednesday called anew on Israel to leave all occupied Arab lands, including East Jerusalem.
Addressing the 55th General Assembly of the UN, Moussa said that to solve the Middle East peace issue, it is inescapable to uphold a governing principle that cannot be circumvented, namely the full withdrawal from all the occupied Arab territories, Syrian and Palestinian, including East Jerusalem, in return for Israel's right to be integrated as a partner in the Middle East enjoying rights to security, peace and cooperation.
"This is the essence of Resolutions 242 and 338. It is only the principle of 'land for peace'," Moussa said.
Moussa affirmed that a durable peace and security can only be established on these bases.
He warned of sustaining occupation of any part of Arab territories because that would constitute a time bomb ready to explode at any time.
Moussa said that the establishment of a full-fledged independent Palestinian State would help realize the desired peace and security in the region.
