An increase in Israeli tourists to Jordan

Jordanian tourism and archeology minister Akel Beltagi said in a interview to the Jordanian newspaper al-Destour this week that Israeli tourists to Jordan increased by 22% during the first seven months of the current year.
Yet Beltagi said that 90% of those visited Jordan from Israel were from the Israeli Arabs.
Beltagi said that he does not feel that the campaign launched by the vocational union and the anti Israel groups which aim at obstructing normalization with Israel affected tourism, adding that Jordan now seeks peace through tourism so that the Israelis become familiar with his country through tourism.
