Post and communication minister deny restructuring will cancel the ministry
Jordan, Economics, 9/14/2000

Jordanian post and communication minister Hatem El-Zoebi denied the intention to cancel his ministry, saying that the restructuring that was lately spoken about will take place in a new program based on data and technology to serve Jordan's future aspirations and the economic developments.

He said that the project goes in two directions, the first of which goes in asking the advisors to give proposals concerning turning the post administration to a general share holding company while the second is privatizing the post sector.

The former cabinet took a decision to privatize the post sector that comprises delivering the administration to specialized foreign side for 4 years, clarifying that eight international investment companies expressed their interest to present the financial, technical and legal consultation services for reconstructing the post sector.
