Syrian position toward peace is unchanging
Syria-Israel, Politics, 9/14/2000

Syrian information minister Adnan Omran assured that Syria is working for peace while holding to the whole Arab rights, saying that it is time that Israel realizes that her insistence on snatching the Arab land pushes the area to the negative future of the area's people.

He said that Syria's stances are stable and determined by President Bashar al-Assad and that peace must based on justice and the international legitimacy resolutions.

Concerning what Barak said about the possibility of achieving peace with Syria, Omran said "this in not the first time in which Barak talks about peace with Syria and that it lacks accuracy for if he was honest then why does not declare that he is ready for the border demarcation to 4th of June 1967 and if he was serious he must inform the U.S administration that he is ready to resume the negotiations."
