Arab - African parliamentary conference refuses Palestinian cause from agenda
Regional, Politics, 9/14/2000

The 9th Arab - African parliamentary conference refused listing the Palestinian cause on the agenda which began the day before yesterday in headquarter of the Tunisian parliament and is concluding its works tonight.

African sources assured to Arabic News that the Egyptian delegation headed by Abd El-Ahad Gamal El-Din and head of the Palestinian national council Selim El-Zenoun supported it while it was refused by the Mali, the Tunisian and the Moroccan delegations under the pretext that the agenda was ready in advance being consulted by the participating delegations before coming to Tunis.

It was agreed on an outlet for this by agreeing on that the concluding statement would include an item about the Palestinian cause and the statement course in Middle East.

20 Arab parliaments are participating in the conference topped by Abd El-Kader Bin Saleh' head of the Arab parliamentary union - head of the Algerian national council and 17 African parliamentary delegations.

The sources assured that the item related to Palestine strongly emphasizes on the necessity of establishing the Palestinian country with its capital Jerusalem and the full Israeli withdrawal from all the occupied Arab lands.
