Tourism returns increase by 12% in jan-july 2000

Morocco's tourism returns reached 11.2 billion Dirhams (US $ 1.02 billion), increasing by 12% compared to 10.05 billion DH posted in the same period of 1999, says the exchange office in its latest newsletter. The source explains that the progression is due to an increase in foreign currency bank notes (18.8%) while bank transfers only progressed by 2.5%.
In the month of July alone, tourism returns increased by 4.1%.
Compared to the average of returns reported in the same period of the last five years (7.8 billion DH), the improvement stands at 43.2%.
