579 candidates with 23 women competing for Omani Shura elections tomorrow

Omanis are heading tomorrow to the election boxes to elect the Omani Shura council (parliament) in its 4th session that will begin in coming March for 3 years.
The Omani interior ministry addressed the invitation to the citizens with electoral cards to head to the election committees to choose 82 members out of 597 candidates among who are 23 women.
This is the first time in the history of the Gulf area to have this number of women nominated in parliamentary elections.
