Israel shoots at three reporters; place missiles on border with Lebanon
Lebanon-Israel, Military, 9/13/2000

Israel intensified its military movements in its military location near the Lebanese borders. Lebanese sources said that Israel began establishing an air defense system in the front locations along the Lebanese - Israeli borders and that it put in the last two days basis for US made Tomahawk and anti aircraft missiles, adding that the Israeli forces linked these basis with a Radar network after surrounding it with a fence and providing it with early alarm systems.

Meantime, an Israeli patrol opened fire towards three Lebanese reporters as they were taking photographs of Israeli violations at Jal-Al-Ahmar Intersection, east of Kfar Shouba. This took place as a technical committee of Israeli experts were drawing the borders in the area of Jal-Al Ahmar, the official Lebanese news agency reported.

It is to note that the shooting occurred only five minutes prior to the US Ambassador, David Satterfield's tour in the area of Shebaa Farms and Kfar Shouba. The tour came following incoming news mentioning that the Israeli army has established new roads in the area, and thus to have a closer look at the situation on the ground and to inquire about the validity of this news.

It is worth mentioning that this tour is the third by the US Ambassador within a month.
