Iraqi soldiers were buried alive in the Gulf war, Iraqi paper says
Iraq-United Arab Emirates, Politics, 9/13/2000
El-Jomhoria Iraqi newspaper said that a large number of corpses were found in south Iraq for soldiers that were buried alive in the Gulf War and that there are remainders of Iraqi soldiers that were also killed during the Gulf War.
The newspaper criticized the speech of Sheik Hamad El-Sharki - the ruler of the Emirate governorate Fojaira - who headed Emirates' delegation in the Millennium summit in New York in which he assured the necessity that the Iraqi government resumes carrying out the decisions of the UN Security Council especially these related to the captives and prisoners from Kuwait and subjects of the other countries as well as giving back the Kuwaiti properties.
The newspaper depicted Sheik Hamad's speech of being 'strong' and Iraq did not expect him to say these words about such a cause.
The newspaper also said that it would have been better for the international community to blame Iran and to force Iran on releasing their three Islands ( Iran and the Emirates are in dispute over the sovereignty of three islands in the gulf area).
