Afghani president denounces violence committed by extreme groups in Algeria
Algeria-Afghanistan, Politics, 9/12/2000

Afghani president (exiled) Borhan El-Din Rabani denounced the violence committed by the extreme groups in Algeria, saying in a message he sent to the Algerian President Abd El-Aziz Bu Taflika "Too bad to have violence elements in Algeria that still turn to violence and massacres to reach political purposes for that such behavior contradict with the Islamic religion and the holy Quran."

The Afghani president addressed a message to the repentant Islamic groups in Algeria who put away their weapons, depicting them of being wise.

President Borhan met Bu Taflika on margin of the U.N celebrations with the Millennium summit Khatemi in New York in the first meeting of it kind between leaders of the two countries since years after the accusation of the Algerian authorities against the Taliban group of training the extremists groups and sending them to Algeria to commit horrible crimes in the name of Jihad.

Rabani's message came following the bilateral summit between Bu Taflika and the Iranian President Mohammed Khatami in New York which was crowned with reviving the bilateral relations between the two countries that were boycotted since 27th of March 1993 from Algeria's decision which summoned her ambassador in Tehran and asked the Iranian ambassador to leave Algeria after proving the involvement of the Iranian bodies in supporting the terrorism groups.
