Morocco, Culture, 9/12/2000

Youth participating in the third national forum of "Young Amnesty" called Tuesday for more efforts to consecrate human rights through education and youth training.

The forum, which wound up Monday in Rabat southern suburbs area of Temara, recommended the promotion of youth organizations and called for stronger involvement of youngsters in activities meant to promote human rights.

The forum, that was sponsored by Amnesty International, tackled several issues, pertaining mainly to "impunity and struggle against torture," "child and women's rights" and means to eradicate human rights violations.

The forum was held on the eve of an international campaign to be staged by Amnesty International against torture, due next October.
