Morocco earmarks $ 900,000 for underground water in south

The regional hydraulics department in southern Morocco earmarked more than $ 900,000 for digging water points in the Moroccan southern provinces. The program, which covered the digging of 50 points and the exploitation of 22 other wells, helped drain some 53 liters of per second.
The operation is meant to contribute to alleviate the acute water shortage in the southern provinces, where social and economic activity depends on underground water resources in view the region's arid climate.
