Morocco, Business, 9/11/2000
Employees of SAMIR oil-refining company decided to postpone a 24-hour strike they were planing to stage as of next Tuesday. The strike was postponed pending negotiations with the employment ministry on workers' grievances.
The strike had been decided after the company's management refused solutions proposed to meet the employees' grievances and claims, a statement by the national trade union of oil and gas industries and representatives of employees, affiliated to the Confederation Democratique du Travail (CDT) said.
The oil company operates oil refining units in Mohammedia, some 60Km south of Rabat, and in Sidi kacem, north-east of Rabat.
