Dialogue ahead of Euro-Egyptian partnership agreement
Egypt, Economics, 9/11/2000

"A Euro-Egyptian dialogue is in progress on a number of queries raised by Egypt regarding a draft partnership agreement between the two sides," Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Youssef Boutros Ghali pointed out.

The Minister said who was inspecting Alexandria Port Saturday to make sure a republican decree on easing import-export control procedures was being properly implemented added that in light of the outcome of the dialogue a date for initialling the agreement would be set.

Ghali said the European side had admitted, during the Minister's meetings in Brussels on Thursday, that Egypt was fully justified in raising those points.

On the other hand, Ghali met with the Egyptian cotton exporters association in Alexandria where he told them that a new pricing policy for Egypt's exports of cotton will be applied to restore its prestigious rank.
