Prince Moulay Rachid meets UN Secretary General

Morocco's Prince Moulay Rachid who is representing King Mohammed VI at the Millennium summit was received Thursday afternoon by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, at the UN headquarters here.
The meeting was attended by Advisor to the King Andre Azoulay, minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Mohamed Benaissa, and Morocco's permanent representative to the UN, Ahmed Snoussi.
Prince Moulay Rachid held side talks with several heads of state attending the world gathering, mainly President of Palestine Yasser Arafat, President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, President Ali Abdellah Salah of Yemen and Prime minister of Ireland, Bertie Ahern.
On Wednesday, Prince Moulay Rachid had held similar meetings with King Harald V of Norway, King Abdellah of Jordan, President Zine El-Abidine ben Ali of Tunisia, President Andres Pastrana Arango of Columbia, President Ricardo Lagos Escobar of Chile, President Fernando De la Rua of Argentina and President Jacques chirac of France, as well as with Spanish Premier Jose Maria Aznar and the foreign ministers of several other countries, mainly Arab and African.
The meetings surveyed Morocco's relations with each of these countries and discussed topical international issues.
