Morocco, a pioneer country in human rights education in Arab states, expert

Secretary general of the "world association of schools as peace instrument," Monique Prindezis, said Morocco emerged as a pioneer in human rights education in the Arab states, for having created a joint commission between the education and the human rights departments to take out all racial and sexist stereotypes from school manuals.
The expert who is taking part in the 1st human rights and peace training for Arab secondary education teachers and decision-makers, held this Sept.4-9, in Sale (Rabat twin city), said the initiative is a premiere in the Arab world.
She went on Morocco should be credited for authorizing a NGO (the association's international center for human rights and peace training and education) to give courses to Arab teachers.
Over 50 executives, teachers and NGO delegates from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Mauritania, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia are taking part in the session that is part of a three-year program recommended by the 1st conference on human rights education in the Arab world (held in Rabat in February 1999).
