Khatami meets with Algerian President

Iranian President Muhammad Khatami on Tuesday met with the Algerian President Abdul Aziz Butaflika in New York.
The Iranian News Agency said that Khatami met for a short time with the Algerian President on the sideline of the Millennium summit at the Un where the Iranian President delivered a speech on dialogue among civilizations.
This is however, the first meeting between the two countries at the presidential level following coolness of relations between the two countries lasted for several years.
