Palestinian clergy against sharing sovereignty over Jerusalem

The mufti of occupied Jerusalem and the holy sites Ikremah Subhi has described the American proposal to share sovereignty on the holy sites in Jerusalem as a perpetuation to the Israeli occupation on the holy city and a violation of the Palestinian supremacy.
In an exclusive statement to Sawt al-Arab radio on Wednesday Subhi stressed the " wailing wall" which the Israelis claim as their property is part of the occupied Palestinian territories and it is part of the western fence of the holy al-Aqsa mosque.
He refused the Israeli claims over Jerusalem and stressed the importance of imposing full sovereignty over Jerusalem and Jerusalem to be the capital for the independent Palestinian state.
Meantime, the founder of the Palestinian national resistance movement ( Hamas) Sheikh Ahmad Yassin said that occupied Jerusalem is part of the Palestinian soil and the " wailing wall" is part of the Islamic "Waqf" ( Islamic Trusts ) that no body has the right to give up.
In an interview with the BBC on Wednesday after he had signed a document called " oath for Jerusalem" together with the Mufti of al- Quds Ikremah Subhi, Yassin added " we have to preserve Jerusalem and every inch of the Palestinian soil." He noted all proposals state partial sovereignty on Jerusalem is not accepted and the Palestinian sovereignty should be complete on it, in line with international legitimacy resolutions and the UN and security council resolutions to this effect.
Worthy mentioning, the document signed by Sheikh Yassin with al-Quds ( Jerusalem) Mufti said that there is no peace nor stability without Jerusalem and that the occupation measures of settlement and confiscation of lands and Judaizing are all futile.
