Egypt makes no pressure on the Palestinians
Egypt-Palestine, Politics, 9/7/2000
Egypt's foreign minister Amr Moussa has stressed his country's stand concerning the file of Jerusalem is to reach a solution in the framework of international legitimacy resolutions. A position which backs the Palestinians proposals and stances to this effect.
In a statement to the Lebanese paper al-Mustaqbal issued on Wednesday Moussa denied any proposal to give up Jerusalem nor any Egyptian pressure on the Palestinians to this end.
On the other hand, the Arab member at the Israeli Knesset Azmi Beshara has announced that reaching a final solution between the Palestinian and Israeli sides is not possible because the government of the Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak is still persistent to its stances over the occupied city of Jerusalem.
