American efforts to have a meeting between Barak and Khatami

American officials are making great efforts in order to convene a meeting between the Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak and the Iranian President Ali Khatami, on the sideline of the Millennium's summit, currently held in New York.
The Hebrew- language Israeli army radio said that among the efforts exerted in this regard is dedicating a suite for Barak near the suite where the Iranian President stays in one of the huge hotels in New York.
The radio added that a mere coincidence meeting between Barak and Khatami in the hotel even at the lounge between the two suites is considered an important achievement in itself.
