Jordanian King Abdullah Bin al-Hussein has denied press news talking about differences between him and his uncle, former crown prince Hassan Bin tallal as well as differences between his wife Queen Rania and the widow of his late father Queen Nour al-Hussein.
The king stressed that these are " mere rumors that are only existed in the minds of those who gossiped them." In a meeting with chief editors of the Jordanian dailies issue don Sunday the King added " all these rumors are groundless concerning about differences within the Hashemite family, especially things pertinent to Queen Nour and prince al-Hassan.He is my uncle and she is the mother of my crown prince " prince Hamzeh Bin al-Hussein."
My uncle carried out a big and key role in all fields during long years and I have all respect and love for him and he continued his giving in activities we assigned to him." He added " similarly Queen Nour had carried out her full role as a wife for my late father and she receives from me and from Rania all support and backing for her efforts."
Worthy mentioning the late Jordanian King Hussein Bin Talal impeached his brother al-Hassan from his position as a crown prince in January 1999. When King Abdullah II ascended to the throne in February he defined his uncle's tasks in chairing over the higher council for sciences and technology and his father's widow the presidency over Nour al-Hussein foundation for Child care before he presented his wife Rania with the title of the Queen, and later to take the front in issues pertaining to children, the women and development of poor rural societies and as a result Queen Nour position in these activities has been deteriorated.
