Arafat vows continues struggle to achieve independence
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 9/4/2000

Palestinian President Yasser Arafat has stressed that there will be no peace without the Palestinian sovereignty over East Jerusalem.

In a speech he delivered before the 114th session of the meetings of the Arab foreign ministers in Cairo on Sunday, Arafat added " we will not accept a solution that limits the Palestinian sovereignty over East Jerusalem nor guarantees the return back of the holy sites to the Palestinian sovereignty.

He added that Palestinians will continue their struggle for independence and sovereignty saying: " we have a long history of resistance. We do refuse any attempt from Israel to impose solutions on us. We will not accept any peace that does not guarantee our right to establishing our independent state with Jerusalem as a capital."
