Sudanese group for human rights criticizes the government
Sudan, Politics, 7/22/2000
Ghazi Soleiman, head of the Sudanese group for the human rights severely criticized the Sudanese government for its repeated violations of the political practices and human rights of the citizens.
He revealed that the security authority made a wide detention campaign in the last days against some political figures especially leaders of the Sudanese communist party and the Sudanese group for the human rights.
He said that the government's speech about guaranteeing public liberties has nothing to do with truth and that the press freedom is restricted and that the press is censured, assuring that there are instructions from the security bodies to the newspapers to not publish stories related to human rights.
