Jordanian PM will hold a visit to Iraq
Jordan-Iraq, Politics, 7/22/2000

Jordanian prime minister Ali Abu al-Ragheb will hold a visit to Iraq which is the first of its kind at this level since the end of the second Gulf war ( between Iraq and Kuwait) with the aim of developing relations between the two states in various fields especially economic relations

This visit, however, comes following an agreement made by Jordan and Iraq to close the file of the past and to open a new page in bilateral relations. This was expressed during the visit made recently by the Iraqi vice- President Taha Yassin Ramadan to Jordan and the talks he held with the Jordanian King Abdullah and Abu al-Ragheb.

According to well-informed sources Abu al-Ragheb is very enthusiastic to improve relations with Iraq especially in the economic area in order to improve economic performance and improve the recession in the economy.

Jordanian sources said that a Jordanian delegation will head for Baghdad during this month ( July) to discuss preparations and arrangements pertaining to this visit.
