Half million Iraqi children are the victims of UN sanctions

The delegate of UNICEF in Iraq said on Friday that almost half million Iraqi children under five died as a result of the sanctions imposed on this country since 10 years.
She added that malnutrition was the main reason for the deaths among children as mortality rate increased among the Iraqi children since 1996.
She continued that since the beginning of the " oil for food program" malnutrition rates among children stayed stabled, but mortality rates remained high as one out of every five children suffer certain forms of malnutrition.
