President Bashar al-Assad, Mubarak discuss, ME situation, bilateral relations

President Bashar al-Assad on Friday received a telephone call from President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt. Talks dealt with bilateral relations between the two sisterly states, and the general situation in the country.
Meantime, Osama al-Baz, the political advisor for the Egyptian president Muhammad Hosni Mubarak and President Bashar al-Assad will hold a meeting before the end of this Summer season.
In statements to the media al-Baz in Damascus on Thursday after he took part in the eulogy held in al-Qerdaha in memory of the late President Hafez al-Assad, the Egyptian President's advisor noted that Syrian- Egyptian consultation is very important concerning the Middle East peace process and the challenges facing the entire Arab states. He added Israel has to seek the resumption of negotiations with Syria. He noted President Bashar al-Assad keenness on reaching the peace of the brave and to clinging fast to Syria's unwavering national principles.
Al-Baz added that President Bashar showed sincere preparedness to proceed on with the peace process. Al-Baz, on the other hand, called on Israel to make use of the opportunity and to resume the peace talks.
