Some 8.5 million EUROS for the Middle East

The European commission in Brussels on Thursday approved financing of humanitarian activities in the Middle East ( the West Bank, Gaza strip, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria ) at a cost of 8.5 million Euros.
The EU commission stressed that the European aid which will be run by the EU humanitarian office falls in the course of the Palestinian refugees and the most needy people in the region. This aid includes, in particular giving aids to the refugees, victims of conflicts and rehabilitation of the population and ensuring care and the waters.
The commission said the humanitarian aids offered to the Middle East between 1993- 1999, through the EU humanitarian office, reached 68 million Euros.
