Press code amendments to be adopted late July

The ministerial commission on public freedoms decided to adopt amendments to the press code late July in order to submit them to the cabinet.
The decision was made at a commission meeting in Rabat chaired by Prime minister, Abderrahmane Youssoufi.
The meeting examined the draft amendments which will be submitted to the cabinet after their adoption by the commission, a release of the Prime minister's office said.
The amendments were drafted by a commission composed of representatives of the Prime minister's office, ministries of justice, interior, communication, human rights and the secretariat general of the government. It took into account claims by professionals, journalists and human rights organizations, latest developments of the democratic practice and experience in Morocco as well as international commitments, the release added.
