Iran's Khatami underscores Morocco's prominent place in Islamic world

President of Iran Seyed Mohammad Khatami has underscored the prominent place held by Morocco and Iran in the Islamic world and the constructive role both countries play in favor of the Islamic ummah.
President Khatami who was receiving the credentials of Morocco's newly appointed ambassador to Tehran, Jamal Eddine Ghazi, also hailed the statesmanship of the late King Hassan II who was a modern, humane head of state, MAP reported
He said he was confident that King Mohammed VI would follow the path traced by his father either at the internal scale or on the international scene and especially within the Islamic world.
The Moroccan diplomat renewed Morocco's determination to enhance its relations with Iran and said the holding of the third session of the joint commission and meetings between the two countries' officials would surely contribute to promoting bilateral relations.
