Benaissa meets president De La Rua and Argentine foreign minister

Moroccan foreign affairs and cooperation minister, Mohamed Benaissa, met Monday in Buenos Aires President Fernando De LA Rua whom he handed a message from King Mohammed VI, says a press-release of the foreign affairs and cooperation department.

Benaissa raised with President De La Rua bilateral relations and common interest issues renewing Morocco's stand backing the United Nations settlement plan providing for a referendum in the Sahara.

The Argentine head of state who was conveyed last March by Premier Abderrahmane Youssoufi a royal invitation to visit the kingdom, said he would be visiting next year.

Benaissa also conferred with Argentine peer Rodriguez Giavarini on cooperation matters and preparations for the meeting of the joint commission slated for the fall in Rabat.
