Hamas leader vows to continue struggle against Israel
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 7/19/2000

The founder of the Palestinian national resistance movement Hamas, Sheikh Ahmad Yassin said that his movement continues its armed struggle against the Israeli occupation in order " to restore back our legitimate rights."

In an interview with the BBC on Tuesday, Sheikh Yassin added that the Hamas movement follows the legitimate democratic methods in resisting the surrender solutions of the cause of Palestine noting that Hamas pursues dialogue and discussions away from violence in the Palestinian street.

He said that the Palestinian people will not accept any solution that undermines the legitimate rights which are the restoration back of occupied Jerusalem and the return back of the refugees to their homeland and the establishment of the independent Palestinian state. He stressed that the Palestinian public rejects all debated solutions which violate these legitimate Palestinian rights.

Sheikh Yassin reiterated the rejection of the Palestinian people to violence, rather resorting to the democratic dialogue and peaceful demonstrations which call for fulfilling their demands.
