Syrian president elect takes constitutional oath

President elect Bashar al-Assad on Monday took oath in an extraordinary session of the people's Assembly (PA) and there by to announce the start of a constitutional term as President for the Syrian republic which will last for 7 years.
Al-Assad took oath by saying " I swear by God Almighty to sincerely preserve the people's democratic republican system, respect the constitution and the laws, care about the interests of the people and the homeland, and work and struggle to achieve the Arab union's goals in unity, liberty and socialism."
