Two Hizbullah members killed
Lebanon-Israel, Politics, 7/17/2000

The Lebanese police said on Sunday that two members of the Hizbullah Party were killed and a third was at least wounded in confrontations that took place on Saturday evening in South Lebanon with the Amal Movement.

The same source explained that the reasons behind the clashes which took place in Markaba village in the central sector of the border strip were not known. This strip used to be occupied by Israel in South Lebanon and Israel had withdrawn from it on May 24.

This is, however, the first time killings take place between the two Shiite organizations since Israel's withdrawal from South Lebanon.

It is well- known that Hizbullah and the Amal Movement are the two main organizations who are deployed at the meantime in the area from which Israel had withdrawn from South Lebanon.

The Lebanese government still refuses sending the army to keep security in the region from which Israel had pullout. Currently, the Lebanese government gives priority to make sure of Israel's complete withdrawal from South Lebanon and to eliminate all Israeli violations along the borders with Lebanon.
