Moroccan textile enterprises to be upgraded as of next September
Morocco, Economics, 7/15/2000
Moroccan textile and garments enterprises will be restructured as of next September under a $ one million-worth three-year project, reported the Moroccan weekly "La Vie Economique."
The German international cooperation body (GTZ) will contribute $ 600,000 while the Moroccan association of textile-garments industry will provide $ 200,000 and recipient-companies $200,000.
The move consists in providing training in management for the staff in charge of production units, setting up an information network between enterprises and international markets and consolidation of cooperation between different branches of the sector.
Another amount of $ 2 million will be allocated for the upgrading of enterprises operating in the field of construction materials, the weekly added.
As the Morocco-EU association agreement, providing for a free-trade area in 2010, entered into force and the globalization of trade exchanges, Morocco has started endeavors to sharpen the competitiveness of its enterprises.
