Palestinian minister: news black out in Camp David summit gives calm to negotiators
Palestine-Israel-USA, Politics, 7/15/2000

Hesham Abd El-Razek, the Palestinian state minister for the captives' affairs said that "The news black out in Camp David summit between the Palestinian and the Israeli sides aims at keeping away from the negotiating slogans that are used in dealing with the press and the media."

He stated that the news black out provides calm to the negotiators and to the summit and leads to its success, saying "I do not believe that adhering to the Palestinian red lines or adhering to the Israeli 'No' could lead to an agreement, and this summit aims at bridging the gap in the different issues and that this requires the U.S.A to control the initiative and to raise practical ideas that meet with the interests of the negotiating parts."
