Arab latest technology production to face globalization challenges

Egypt's Information Minister Safwat al-Sherif said the new century globalization challenges can be met with distinguished Arab production, utilizing the latest communications technology, this came in statements Wednesday following the opening of Radio and Television Exhibition on the sidelines of the 6th Cairo Radio and TV Festival.

The Exhibition, the scope of which is being widened year after year with marked recognition among world fairs, will always be an international event displaying the latest technology in the field of communications and information to cope with the up-to-date developments and technologies.

Al-Sherif said that Egypt, with its giant media potentials and infrastructure, shall continue to exercise media sovereignty and embark on everything that is new in the media field at the level of the Arab region, the Middle East and Africa.

Egypt's infrastructure has been integrated and Egypt has two satellites which operate according to the latest techniques and technology of communications under the digital system which will prevail the media of the future and a Media Production City (Hollywood of the East) and a Free Media Zones open to the world.

Al-Sherif said that Cairo Exhibition being held on the sidelines of Cairo Radio and Television Festival has become a prominent landmark at the Arab and international levels due to the volume and number of participating countries from different parts of the world which is increasing year after year, the development of the production process and the introduction of new integrated elements which enter the production process at the level of all participating countries and the level of channels and the participating private sector.

He said facing the challenges of globalization is taking root in the conscience of the Arab producer. It is a culture based on self-confidence and self ability to maintain identity and not to be afraid of foreign perspectives. It is a policy based on true understanding of the dialogue among cultures and civilizations.

The Minister of Information said that all activities of the 7th session of Cairo Radio and Television Festival and the exhibition next year will be held at the Media Production City.

Major international companies worlwide are taking part and are exhibiting latest technologies in radio and television equipment.

They are exhibiting lates technology of communications, production and equipment in the media field at world level.
