Bu Taflika represents Africa in the major 8th summit
Algeria-Ethiopia, Politics, 7/13/2000

The 36th African summit held in Togo assigned the Algerian President Abd al-Aziz Bu Taflika to represent Africa in the major 8th summit that will be held on 21st of the current month in Japan.

This comes to support the confidence that was granted by the Organization of African Unity to Bu Taflika.

The African summit also decided that Bu Taflika continues managing the file of the Ethiopian - Eritrean dispute in a confirmation to the organization's principle of solving disputes peacefully to avoid the armed confrontation.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Melis Zinawi suggested at the African heads council that the dispute file between his country and Eritrea would remain in President Bu Taflika's hands and the Eritrean President Asias Aforki approved this suggestion.
