Al-Ghajar village between Israel and lebanon
Lebanon-Israel, Politics, 7/12/2000
An Israeli official in occupied Jerusalem said on Tuesday that Lebanon and Israel have reached an unofficial agreement through the UN over the fate of the al-Ghajar village.
The Israeli official who refused to be identified said that according to this unofficial agreement Israel had agreed that Lebanon will have supremacy on the northern part of the village and decided to stop running on-foot patrols for its forces in the village in the future.
The said village is situated on the border between Lebanon and the occupied Syrian Golan which Israel occupied since 1967. Until then ( this agreement) Israel considered this village as not constituting a part of Lebanon and that its forces occupied it during its take over of the Syrian Golan.
