Football: Morocco defeats Algeria in world cup preliminary heats

Morocco defeated Algeria 2 to 1 in a second preliminary heats match for the 2002 World Cup, played Sunday evening in Fez, central Morocco.
Algeria scored first at the 35th minute of the game. A by Abdeljalil Hadda (Camacho) at the 51st minute equalized the score. The victory goal was also netted by Hadda at the 72nd minute.
Morocco, which had tied 0-0 with Namibia in Windhoek, tops its group C with 4 points. It is followed by Senegal (2 points). Namibia, Egypt and Algeria have 1 point each.
Morocco will play Egypt while Algeria will play Namibia in the coming preliminary heats scheduled for January 2OO1 (26 through 28).
