Head of Arab bloc in Knesset fears failure of the summit
Egypt-Palestine, Politics, 7/10/2000

Talab El-Sanae, head of the unified Arab parliamentary bloc in the Israeli Knesset hailed Egypt's pioneering role in the peace process saying that the policy of the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is reasonable and is working hard to bring together the points of view among the parties of the peace process to reach a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East .

He said that there are fears toward the failure of the three-way summit and there is some pessimism regarding closing the big gap among the stances of the Palestinian and the Israeli sides on the main items of discussion.

He specified that these items include such issues as the solution to Jerusalem with all its dimension, the settlements, the refugees, the right of return and the Palestinian state and its borders. He added that the summit is a U.S risk that was not well prepared for.
