Consultations for a political solution to exiled Hamas leaders
Palestine-Jordan, Politics, 7/10/2000
Sources in the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas stated that there are communications for finding a political solution for the case of the four Hamas leaders that were expatriated from Jordan to Qatar.
This new development comes following the discharge of Abd al-Raouf al-Rawabdah's government and forming a new government under the new Prime Minister Ali Abdu al-Ragheb. This new development also follows the issuance of supreme justice court decision to refuse an appeal against Hamas which left the way open to find a political solution for the case that satisfies the two sides after a 10 month boycott between them.
Optimism has increased toward finding a solution when the new Jordanian government included some ministers who condemned the Jordanian procedures against Hamas.
The communications began when head of the political bureau of Hamas Khaled Mishaal made a phone conversation from his headquarters in Qatar with the new prime minister and congratulated him, wishing him to find a formula for the solution.
