Football: Morocco plays Algeria in world cup prelimnary heats match
Morocco-Algeria, Sports, 7/8/2000

Morocco will play Algeria Sunday evening in Fez, centeral Morocco, in a second preliminary heats match for the 2002 World Cup.

"The match will be a difficult one, as the two teams will try to win after the two draws they obtained in their first matches," Algeria's coach Abdelghani Djadaoui said, upon his team's arrival Friday in Fez.

Morocco had tied 0-0 with Namibia in Windoheoh, while Algeria escaped defeat at home against Senegal, painstakingly snatching a 1-1 draw.

Both teams are drawn in the same group as Egypt, Senegal and Namibia.

Under a high pressure, the Moroccan team will have to win Sunday's match to win back its fans who has been anry following the squad's poor perfomances since the African Nations Cup, held earlier this year in Nigeria and Ghana.

Morocco's new coach, Polish-born French Henry Kasperzack, has called back an armada of Europe-based professionals to back up the home-based young talents.
